Welcome to Environment Omaha! This policy development initiative is creating an Environmental Element for the City of Omaha's master plan. There are five content areas - the Natural Environment, Urban Form & Transportation, Building Construction, Resource Conservation and Community Health.
The final drafts of the Natural Environment, Urban Form & Transportation and Building Construction documents have been completed, and public comment is sought. Work on the Resource Conservation component kicked off Jan. 20 with a public meeting at the Scott Conference Center. The guest speaker was Amy Malick, Midwest regional director of ICLEI-Local Governments for Sustainability.
